An Unwelcomed Visitor
What is it Mom? I thought I saw something and I ran and looked under the dining table. What is it Mom? I'm going to stand here and watch and see if it appears again. What do you mean get it? What is it? I'm looking and I don't see anything. Will it bite me? What is it Mom? I don't see it. I'm smelling around and I know it has been here. Where did it go? It sure must run fast. Must be awfully small. I think it has hair like me. Is it as big as me? No, if it was, I could see it. What's a mouse? Will it eat my food? I'll get that mouse. I could wait and wait but you know this is getting really boring. It must have gone to sleep. Mom, it's not here anymore. You're just going to have to put up with it until someone comes and gets it. I need to go to bed. No, Mom, it's not going to bite you. Just go to bed and your friend will take care of it. Yes, I know you had one in the bedroom and it ran over your arm, but this one isn't very brave. That's why it's hiding. Just go to bed and things will be better tomorrow. Goodnight, Mom.............and mouse.

Chasing Biscuits
I just had soooooooo much fun chasing biscuits. No silly, they weren't running--picture that--a biscuit running down the sidewalk. He, He. Mom would through the biscuit and I would run to get it, then chomp, chomp, slober, chomp. She would then throw another and I would run through the snow, sniffing to find it. Yep, there it is, chomp, chomp, slober, slober. This is fun. Whoops, there goes another one. Mom could be a good pitcher, or maybe a quarterback--yes, that's it a quarterback. She has her new Viking shirt on so could play like she is a Minnesota Viking quarterback. Anyway, enough about that. One more, Mom, throw one more. Up in the air the biscuit goes. I am watching it to see where it falls in the snow. Plunk, down it goes and off I go to sniff and chomp. That was fun. Maybe Mom can teach me some more games. Nobody ever taught me any games but Mom has been trying. I think she will succeed. Merry Christmas everybody. Have a wonderful day.

The Buscuit People
Ah yes, the biscuit people came through. I've been waiting out in the cold snow for them to arrive and at last they came. I thought they weren't going to give me a biscuit because they were carrying things. But they said they would be right back--that's what Mom says when she leaves for just a bit. And they did. Yum, this biscuit is good. I really like The Biscuit People. I do wish them a Merry Christmas. When I was out shopping, I saw something they might really like and I whipped out my debit card and bought it. I made Mom wrap it. Yesterday I walked over to the house of the Biscuit People and put it inside the front door. I think one of them came home during the day and put it under their Christmas tree. They are really going to like it. When I saw it, I knew I had to buy it. It does so remind me of them. It's fun giving gifts. Happy Christmas Eve to all.

New Friends
Two little girls came into my dog run today and they are very nice. The taller girl threw a round thing, she called it ball, but I didn't know what to do with it. Mom was trying to teach me what to do with a ball but I didn't understand. Guess I better check out the computer and see what I am supposed to do with it. My previous families didn't ever show me. I know it runs along the ground, but it doesn't smell like food so I don't know what to do with it.
The two girls stayed outside and gave me hugs and rubbed my hair. I really like that. Much better than a ball. Then Mom came out and gave the taller girl a biscuit to give to me. Yes, that was yummy. Mom told me to say hello, she always tells me to do things, and then gives me a biscuit--hey it's food, I definitely can perform for food. The two girls then went in the house and I am still sniffing the ground for crumbs and Mom says "Come, Sophie." I bet it's time to eat. Yep, I see that cup in her hand. Terrific, good eats ! !

What's 16 Degrees?
Mom's shaking and her nose is as wet as mine. She must be cold. Maybe if she grew more hair on her body, she would be warmer. She doesn't even have any hair between her toes--no wonder she keeps shaking her feet. She tells me it's 16 degrees--I don't understand. I know there is some white stuff on the ground and my tarp is kind of drooping, but I think it's nice outside. I dug some dirt in the back yard and found a round thing with a brown cover--maybe it's something Mom planted. How could it grow with the ground so hard? More things I don't under stand. I should get out my dictionary Mom gave me and see if I could find a picture. No, wait--I'll just use this computer and look it up. Whatever was I thinking. I sometimes like to just read a book rather than do all that searching on the internet. I do need my nails cut--some of my letters I keep having to correct as I type. Mom taught me how to type and how to use the computer. She is really cool--I am so lucky that I found her. Gotta go--time to make more snow angels. Sophie Marie signing out.

What Are Pilgrims ?
Mom keeps telling me that in 2 days there will be Pilgrims at our home. I wonder if she whistles at them, they will come before then. I don't even know what a Pilgrim is. She said they eat a lot and then they sit on the couch or recliner and snooze. She started cooking for them today. Pots and pans all over the place in the kitchen, oven warming the air, and her arm sitrring. Boy those Pilgrims don't know how hard she worked today. As for me, I laid in the back yard, letting the sun warm me. Then I went over to the dog run and Mom had fixed my tarp. I never did catch those birds and squirrels. I missed Mike's biscuits. It's cold--no sun in the dog run. I heard the mailman come but I was in the back yard so I couldn't bark loud at him--or her. Wonder if the mailman knows what a Pilgrim is. All I know is maybe one of them will share some of their food. Just think of all the biscuits I ccould eat. Then I would sit in the yard and snooze. Maybe I will like those Pilgrims after all.

Fun in the Snow
I love to rub my face in the snow. Cleans my eyes and my nose. Made angels in the snow today. My toes spread and that cold, wet snow gets in between them--feels good. Whoops, my tarp fell down. Who did that? That brown and black dog is gone. No more pee on Mom's roses. Maybe a big bird or a squirrel grabbed that rope and pulled my tarp down. They never did like me. That's all right, I'll be out there soon and they will run away. I have a very thick coat and I can stay out longer than those feathered and fuzzy guys. I'll show them. I maybe a smaller Great Pyrennes, but I can get those pesky animals. I'll lay behind my fallen tarp and when they come by, I'll come roaring out just like a lion and feathers and furr will fly everywhere. I'm KING of the dog run. Yep, that's me.

Mom's Not So Happy
I think there is something wrong with one of mom's leg or foot. We haven't gone on a walk and she has been wearing her houseshoes and putting her feet on that table in front of the couch. Meanwhile, I've been digging and rearranging the spot where I lay. Found some kind of paper, and look there is some more outside the fence. I just can't reach it. Maybe if I dig deeper, I can get to it. Rats--Mom made me go into the back yard, but all is not lost, she gave me a biscuit. Ah ha! I'm back where that paper was BUT where is it? I bet Mom cleaned it up. She always takes the fun out of things. Like, this morning, she let me in the pen and I found some rotten tomatoes and she made me get out of there. And now I'm in the house. Good thing I'm going to doggie day care tomorrow, because I don't know how long I can put up with this woman.

The Sun on my Coat
Today I can go outside and let the sun warm my white coat. Feels good lying here taking in the warmth. Just get up and walk around for awhile, lap up some water, cooling my tongue and rinsing my mouth, lay back down and take in some more sun. Oh, HI Mom. It's nice out here and this where I want to stay. Maybe I'll get a biscuit--oh, thanks Mom. I'll just lay out here and maybe later Mike or Pat will give me a different biscuit--or maybe not. I just want to be here in the sun.

That large, brown and tan dog is near my porch
I see you and you better not come up on my porch. You are looking away and are afraid of me. Yes, you know what happened the other day when you howled barked at me the other day. You saw my teeth and heard the rumblings of my voice. Now get outta' here. This is my porch and you don't belong here. And, hey, quit peeing on my Mom's bushes. Mom, make that dog go away--see how afraid of me he is. Ha, ha. Okay, I'll come in the house 'til he is gone. Don't want to have to beat his a--. And now he's gone and I can go outside. Wow, it's cold out here. Where's my snow booties? I'll just walk around for a while--not too many smells when it's this cold. Great, who closed this gate. I can't get in under my tarp. Yes, Mom I hear you, I guess I'll come inside. Oh, a biscuit for me? Yum, this is good. Wonder why Mike and Pat haven't given me any biscuits lately. I'll have to talk to Mom about this. It's nice and warm in the house and my tummy is full, must be naptime. Later.

Turn on the lights
Gosh, it's not very bright outside. No, I don't have my sunglasses on. What is going on? Would someone please turn on the lights. Feels like there is raindrops above my head. I have my tarp, so I won't get wet. I just don't understand. I like it because it is cool and my nose is dripping just a bit of water. Mom, I need some water in my bowl. Where is she? Mom, MOM, I need some water in my bowl. Maybe some will fall out of the sky. Might as well enjoy the cool weather and take a nap. Snoooooooooooooooze.

Nice outside

It's different outside today
Mom and I drove away in the car this morning, she heading to work and me to my visit my friends at Lucky Dog Day Care. As usual, I slept in the back seat while Mom was listening to rap on the radio. We didn't stop much. Either Mom ran many yellow lights or just maybe there were more green ones. Since I really can't see colors, I am betting she ran yellow lights. We arrived at Lucky Dog and I went in to see my friends. Several days had passed since I had been there and most everyone was glad to see me. I am a guarding dog so they really like me to walk around the perimeter and make sure everyone is safe. Later that afternoon while walking to the car, I noticed there were gray skies and drops of water were falling on me. I jumped in the backseat and home we went. Mom, don't let the thunder pound on me!! Mom fixed dinner and I went outside. But wait--there the drops of water got bigger and there are more of them. Coming Mom. Whew, get me a towel. Stop--I can do it myself. Rub, rub. All better. Snuggle down and wrap my tail around and stick my nose in it and I'll be warm and cozy. Good night.

Clouds and noises
CRACK, light flash, reverberations--hey, that's a big word for a dog. Mom, Mom it's going to get me. I know, I know, I just don't understand (shaking my head back and forth.) Behind the recliner--it's safe here, especially with my head under a table. Ha, Ha. Can't get me here, so just move on by. Uuuuuuu ( sound it out ), water coming down. Here come fresh new smells that flow up my nose. Sniff, Sniff. You just can't beat the new smells.

A Balloon in My Yard
Last weekend there were so many vibrant balloons overhead in the sky. They made puff, puff noises. Well, this morning one fell in my yard. A plain cream colored one. But it was upside down and didn't go puff, puff. There was a long stick coming out of it. Maybe Mike and Pat have this strange balloon. I have to leave now, sure would like to sniff it and see if I can figure out what this is. I will check it out later. Well, the "thing" disappeared after I got home. Up, Up and Away. Maybe it was Mary Poppins ! !

Boring
Labor Day--what's that? I don't work--this is like any other day for me. Must be the same for Mom. She took me on a walk. Kept saying "C'on, c'on." On the way to Boulder Park, she stopped while I was sniffing something really good, and talked to a elderly lady--probably a little older than Mom--who was visiting from Missouri. I wanted to say, "C'on, c'on." I was really bored. We finally made it to the park and it was delightful. Rained last night and refreshed the smells. I guess Mom needed entertainment, so we ran circles around some trees for awile. Then we headed back home. But........then a friend of Mom's came over--her daughter and we went walking again, for a very long walk. I got really hot and we came home and I drank lots of water. Mom wasn't bored anymore--nor was I. Happy Trails, Roy.

Just walking...........
Slowly I am making my way through the pine trees and not being able to see too far I can smell the pine aroma and take in all the smells--the needles underfoot, musty mushrooms and earthworm turned soil. Birds jumping from tree to tree calling hello to other animals arising. Dew fills the air bathing the waking plants and sunlight begins to filter through the trees. I stroll and listen to all things wakening and know I am up just as the forest awakens.

A Nice Saturday
I took Mom for a walk this morning. The weather was cool and skies blue. One street had too many cars and was very noisy--smelled bad too. But Boulder was nice--people working in their yards, pulling weeds and cleaning up spent flowers. I found numerous good smells on the ground and lifted my head to sniff around at other smells. One place I couldn't see anything--there were big rock walls holding back the grass and I could see or sniff. My mom tells me "Your nose is always working overtime" and I think she is right. I mean, what else is there but good smells, biscuits and a longgggggggg nap.

Morning glory tree
Yes, I have a morning glory tree next to the canopy where I rest. This morning it was absolutely beautiful. The rain we had last night really encouraged the blooms this morning. Ah........... pure beauty.

A morning glory tree.......
Right next to the fence where my cool hole I dug, is a scrubby elm tree--an overgrown weed. But now it is a lovely morning glory tree. Purple morning glories wind there way upward from the ground reaching each branch and making this weed a morning glory tree. This morning after a gentle rain and grey clouds hung above my head, I could see those glorious purple flowers say, "Hey, look up, Sophie. See how pretty I look now." I am out there right now and the flowers have gone to sleep, but I know they will wake up in the morning, because they are morning glories.

I Love Those Biscuits
Wow--Mike just threw me a biscuit. It was SOOOOOOOOOO good. I keep hearing things and I bark at them. Usually there isn't much going on around here. Oh......neighbors put up a new fence--now I can't see. So, I just bark when I hear something. I can see through the front fence and some of the back but I really like to lay under the tarp my Mom hung up for shade. When it gets warm, I just did my hole a little deeper and it becomes cool again. Mom really needs to come and mow the weeds in my dog run. I imagine when it gets a little cooler she will do that. Sure hope so. I don't like all these weeds. They do keep the ground cool though. Well, time for a nap now that I had a yummy biscuit. Sweet dreams.

Laid Back Day
I haven't written much lately because it was so hot. And for me with my long white coat, it's been unbearable. Also, my friends Pat and Mike ran out of dog biscuits. Just left me with no energy and a very lackluster life. I've been going to Lucky Dog for the past several days and it is cooler there. Today I am at home, lying in the shade, breathing in the aromas of the flowers from Pat's "double cosmos" (she needs to give my Mom some seeds--all my Mom has is the single petals.) Anyway, today is a laid back day. Just lying...................snoozing...................and knowing that Pat will give me a biscuit. Thanks, Pat. Have a good day.
Later, y'all
